Just wondering how often the valves need to be adjusted on my 99 Sportsman 500? I've owned this bike for 4 years and never checked the valve clearances and I'm sure they've never been messed with by the previous owner.
My bike has always ran perfect and I've never had any problems getting it to start or any stalling out after being warm.

 

Polaris recommends adjusting the valves every 1000 miles . I'v been adjusting mine on average every 3 to 4 thousand miles but the last two times they were pretty much dead nuts on spec .

 

Guess I better check mine then.
