Locking the AWD
#11
Not Really. Camoplast 4S (#1 track mfg) has used this method for yrs on Polaris AWD to achieve total locked 4wd. The front drive sprockets are slightly larger than the rears, making the awd sensor think the rears are spinning and this locks in the front to 4wd.
I;ve had three Polaris, locked by this method with countless, trouble free hrs. HOWEVER, I don't know how tires would do like this.

Well, I'm definetly not going to change the tire ratios. I'm not looking to have it totally locked whenever it's in AWD. I like the way it works now, but there are situations that I have found it would be useful if it had been totally locked. I'll have to run a few more tests to make sure it is fully engaging when it should.
