Default '05 Phoenix Exploded CDI

First Post! I've got a 2005 Phoenix that had blown the back out of the CDI. I replaced the CDI with a new one and it started right up. When I tried to ride it and opened up the throttle the CDI blew out again! Before I blow another $150 CDI i thought I'd run this past you guys to see if it might be something else causing it to blow... Rectifier? Thanks a lot !

Might have the stator checked out as the cdi gets its input from it.Charging on different part of the stator, but could be shorting out, plus do a resistance check on the reg/rectifier also.If you can't find the specs, rule of thumb on reg/rectifier is on all yellow wires between each other should show about the same resistance, plus none should be shorted to ground.
