SORRY!! Misread what you posted! It should NOT be pushing out, should be sucking in! May need to check it out! Valve clearance, etc, this was what I was talking about on checking compression first. This is a shim under bucket valve system and best to let someone that has any necessary shims check it out! Not a do it at home job! OPT

Predators needed to have the valves adjusted often!! Mainly because they were a performance machine. I've had several non running ones come in with tight valves as the problem. Most dealers will charge about 1.5 - 2 hrs labor. HOPE this solves your problem!! OPT

Well they tore Into the bottom end and they say the rod bearing has slack in it and it. They also said that the timing chain jumped and the valves were opening and closing at the wrong time so the piston hit a valve and possibly bent it. Should I worry about a little slack in the rod bearing? It doesn't look like too much but when you pull up on the piston and keep pressure on it the slack goes away. Any ideas if I can get away with leaving it or is it normal for some slack when the piston is loose from the top end?

There should be NO noticeable slack in the rod lower bearing!! If there is,time to tear it down and replace the rod assy! Don't try to short cut on this! OPT

Send the rod out?Once a piston is hit by a valve it will usually affect the rod and it also may be bent Do you mean sending the crank out for tuning the journal? A lot of dealers won't repair with your parts!! (our shop did) but you can check first! Cycle Parts Warehouse OR Cheap Cycle Parts, check which one is cheapest on parts! OPT
