Default Valve lash for hawkeye

I have an 06 hawkeye 4x4. When it gets hot it sputters like it aint gettin enuff gas. I have checked the jets and all seems good I want to check the valve but dont know what they shud b set to. Does anyone know what they should be? Also how to I find tdc so I can check the timming?

Remove the cylinder head valve cover, pull recoil slowly(easier if you remove the spark plug) until you see the intake valve rocker arm go down and start to come up,then look at the cam sprocket and when the sprocket locating pin is straight up on the head this is TDC! Then you can check the valve clearance(.006 intake and exhaust) Engine must be cold to accurately check!! OPT

Thanks! The valves were .110! Test drive now thanks again
