Default 2007 hawkeye speedometer

Just bought my son a 2007 hawkeye with 17 hours on it. I is running great, but after the 4th day, the speedometer goes to 188 for a couple of seconds and N & R lights flash. Any idea what would cause this? thanks for help. d

Welcome to the forum! Check that battery connections are tight and when running make sure its charging 14-14.5 volts(or thereabouts on the Hawkeye). Check electrical connector and wiring on the transmission gear selector(Could be shorting out/bad gear selector switch?) OPT
