After trauling the internet I can't source (in the UK) a front mount for my 500HO Sportsman unless I go through the dealer for a genuine part but where's the fun in that?!

I took the front cargo box off to get a look at what's involved and Polaris have obviously designed the front end with a winch in mind. I have however decided to mount the winch differently from the stock or KFI mount and I am aiming to keep the front panel in place. I have an alluminium fairlead which will be trimmed into the front plastic however I have yet to come up with an idea to access the freespool.

I have fabbed a basic mounting plate, to which I will add the fairlead bracket and some weight saving holes.

haven't seen the free spool accessed when using the insert panel unless they have cut out more of the panel for access. good luck in the design.
