Default Heated Grips (what does everyone else have)

Hello
I just started looking into getting some handwarmers on the atv.

Has anyone found a setup they like, or dont like??

I dont know much about them yet. I looked on the polaris site, they have a kit for $55 that has a heat strip that goes under the grip and says "all wiring included" it looks like the wires have crimp ends already on them like there is a place they may plug into?? I cant tell if it comes with a on/off switch though??

Any help appreciated

Default Heated grips

I got the Polaris ones. Mine came with a switch and were very easy to install. Use an air compressor to balloon on/off your grips. The wiring was pretty easy. I used mine today and they still work great after a few seasons with them.

Does the switch mount to the handlebar somewhere?

So after u get the factory grips off, you are able to reuse them and put them back on over the heat pad???

What keeps the heat pad attached to the bars when you slide the grip back on??

What did you use to plug the hole on the grip you were blowing off with the compressor??

Thanks, ElectricianCscotter

The switch is mounted in my headlight pod.

The heating element has a sticky back which sticks to the handlebars.

To get the grips off, I stick a blower nozzle from the air compressor in the hole on the outside of the grip and pinch of the inside of the grip with my other hand and it will balloon up making it able to slide off.

Yes I used my same grips over again.

Does the switch with the polaris kit fit into one of the rectangular Knockouts on the headlight pod?? Did the switch come with the kit?? That would be great.

I added the backup lights, and it came with a switch that fit right into the pod cutout. I think there is a space for another switch.

I have the polaris warmers as well and love them. Took about 30min to install. They make them with two different switches that I could tell. The rectangular that fits into the knock out in the pod and a round switch which you have to drill a hole. Either one is fine but the rectangular one looks better.IMO Very simple to wire, You can feed power off the 12V outlet in the light pod.
