Default Atv-Guru Rotopax Mount

Just to let you guys know, I am interested in mounting a 2 gallon container of fuel to my back brush guard made from John and Paul at atv-guru.com. Paul makes the rear brush guards and he is going to make up a bracket that will bolt up to the bars in the back and get back to me in a few days he said.

I asked for the gas can for Xmas, and I think I will get it (if not, I'll get it!). I will take a bunch of photos when it all works out. I will then send the same to him and they will use them to hopefully sell some more because this may be a small need out there, or option, that people can look at and see if it is something they want.

Mounted and looking good! I spoke with Paul at atv-guru.com and he fabricated this for me. I believe he is going to put something on their site and offer it as an add-on for anyone looking to do the same.

If it weren't for the holidays and asking for the gifts, I probably would have gone without this. BUT, now that I do have it, it sure gives peace of mind for trail riding that I have 2 gallons on reserve for myself or one of my buddies as we take our adventures!

I can still open the trunk lid as well.

I've got Guru bumpers front and rear on my 550 and I'd buy one of these.

I like that set up, you do not even have to use up any rack space.

Yep, frees up rack space. Puts a little more weight over the back end rather than loading down the front which I see people opt for often. I was concerned with the extra weight on front, albeit not entirely that much, it will cause the front end to dive down faster on drop offs, rutted trails, etc. in addition to taking up front space inside the box like Thor has done (very well done though!). I just like to use it for other small items.

Few more pictures.

I prefer the weight on the front end. I don't do much fast riding, but I do like to climb. Any extra weight to help keep the front end on the ground is a plus to me. I have 2 - 2 gallon rotopax gas cans on my front box.

$35 for the bracket, including shipping I think. I believe that if one were to order a guard now, you can have it just welded right now, rather than bolting it on (unless you wanted it removable)

Rotopax Deluxe bracket and gas can. Total was over $100 with all three!

But I can keep this and transfer the bracket to future rides, etc. So it's not like it will go bad or anything.

I support the idea of transporting extra gas but would be very concerned with hanging fuel where it could be easily ruptured. My vote is to keep it on top and out of the front and rear impact zones.
Love the ATV Guru stuff…..
