It will breath better, and filter better, of course. You won't be able to tell much difference in the way of performance. You can really tell a difference on a two stroke, but not much on a four stroker.

I'm doing the same for my 98 SP500. I put one on my Chevy Z71 and it helped out alot.

Do an oil analysis on your truck and you'll see that the silicon levels are high!

The passing of dirt through the K&N is also evidenced by dirt residue after the filter in the intake tract. If you've run one for any length of time, it WILL be there.

The Uni filter is a better choice IMHO

I also agree that the Uni is better for your atv. It also gives about the same amount of perf. The uni is also alot cheaper.

Will this happen with the Outerwear over the filter? My SP500 RSE came with an Outerwear on the stock air filter. I put one on the K&N to be on the safe side. I think they are waterproof too.

If you live in a temperate climate go with the K&N but if you use your machine in dry dusty climates you will need the foam oil soaked Uni.
I live in B.C Canada and the K&N is perfect the uni is to much so figure out were your running your machine and for the price of the filter's try both.
