pull star for 850 xp

HELLS BELLS, it's hard enough sometimes to pull start a 500 let alone an 850
but then again maybe I'm getting weak in my old age and have been bitten one too many times on the 500 when it tries to ****** the rope out of your hands(learned real quick to use two hands!!) OPT

there are a ton of big bore snowmachines 900 -1000 cc that have pull cords not that there fun pulling over especially when cold I've even seen a video of someone pull starting a yamaha 4 cyl 1000 cc four stroke sled by wrapping a strap around clutch and pulling over some sleds even came with pull straps for emergency in there tool kits to use for that purpose I personally like just turning the key But when something goes wrong YOU ARE S.O.L

Probably 95% of the time the reason you might need to pull start is for a dead battery. Get an Oddysey or Interstate battery, then you will only left with a very minute concern about your starter failing in the middle of nowhere. (That will free up your mind to worry about bigger things like breaking an axle or having your injection system fail).
I've finally left my cheap ways behind me when it comes to batteries. In one of my kids quads I had a conventional Interstate battery last over 5 years (without hooking it up to a battery conditioner and sometimes the quad would sit for months). The cheap batteries used to need to be replaced almost every 18 months like clockwork and always failed at inconvenient times.
The AGM batteries for the big bores usually last 7-10+ years and give you a little warning they are going bad by losing cranking power over time, rather than all at once.

The largest ATV I tried to pull start was a Yamaha 660 Grizzly and its very hard and hurts when it kicks backs and rips the rope handle out of your hand.
The 660 did not have a auto decompression though. My 500 has one and is actually easier to pull over then my 250 Yamaha that did not have on.
Does a 850 have auto decompression? It would make the life of a electric starter last longer also.
I seldom ride alone, so I carry these minature looking jumper cables to jump start another ATV. I even jumped started the 660 Grizzly once rather then try its pull cord ever again.
