Default Suggestions on new winch mount

I currently have a 2000 sp 500 RSE. It came with factory winch and winch mount front bumper. I like having the front bumper, but it is not a necessity. The problem I am having is I can never get my hand in the bumper to freespool the winch easily. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good winch mount in which it is easy to access the winch freespool?

Thanks,

Jim

How handy are you?

I made my own mount this year, the winch still fits in the front recess but is slightly further back. This means I can keep the front panel in place and all you see is the fairlead. The panel is now held in place with a couple of quick release fender fasteners for easy access.

I'll try and take a pic later tonight.

The other thing I looked at doing, which I'm sure is possible, was extending the freespool lever through the side pastic so it was positioned up next to the back of the headlight. I can't do this now as the winch is so far back that the freespool extension would interfere with the frame.

James,

Thanks for the info. I think I found an open sided winch mount from promark offroad.

Thanks,

Jim
