How do i find out the build date? The 700 im working on has all the parts listed that either they will work befor a certian build date or there is another part number for after that build date. The id tag on the quad is worn off and i can only get the vin number thats stamped on the frame 4XACH68A74A305086. Do i have to contact polaris themselves to figure it out or ???

 

10th digit is the year build date. You have a 2004 model 700 . I think the7 stands for the month (July?)OR the remaining six digits decodes the build specifics? can't remember off hand. ALSO pop the front panel and see if you have the DUCATI ignition OR a separate cdi and coil (Kokusan) if its a carb machine. If Kokusan then it's the later build date. Best to actually call a dealer and he can give you the exact build date. I did that quite often by just logging in to our dealer page and entering the vin #,detailed the first owner info along with any recalls or updates needed or already done. OPT

Tapped in to my old site found the original owners name,engine number 9230,purchased 9/15/2004 along with dealer that sold it.
No such thing as privacy anymore I guess ? OPT
