I just want something that is more responsive than what i have now. wich is 1999 sportman 500
In 2001 Polaris started making only H.O (High Output) Sportsman 500. All they did was use the larger 40mm scrambler's carb vs the 34mm and the scrambler's higher duration cam.

They claimed a 20% power increase.

It really woke up the Sportsman in the mid and high rpm range. We have both a 97 500 and I have the 2001 H.O. You can feel the differance only on faster road riding not so much just at 25 mph trail riding.

polaris and the word sport should not be used together. polaris has never made a good sport quad. look to the other brands when thinking sport quad. the polaris has it spot ,but not in sport quads....

But only Yamaha, Can AM and Polaris have a sporty trail machine with a 4wd option. If 2wd tried to come trail riding on our trails we would be stoping and towing it out every mile.

The KTM powered Polaris Outlaw 525 looks pretty crazy though.

I think they have a hard time making a lighter frame with all the power nowadays.. Its easier to just swap plastic helps keep costs down
