Default suspension

on my 500 its set from the dealer but when I am trail riding I wish it was a bit softer but when I am hunting or hauling wood and stuff I wish it was a bit stiffer (have one of them racks that fit into the trailer hitch and with a deer on it it sinks and drags the ground) how hard is it to change it? and what way do I need to go with the adjuster for each setting?

The easiest way I've found is to jack it up take the wheel off so you have room to work and there's less compression of the springs. You should be able to tell which way to turn it and it only has 5 notches. My biggest problem is that the wrench I have now is too big to fit on there. Some guys just use channel-locks but I haven't tried it.

like frank mentioned, jacking it up off the ground takes the weight off and you should buy a spanner wrench to move the adjusting ring on the spring. the higher notches are for the stiffer settings.
