Question Stock PXT front tires

I just bought a set of 26x8x12 polaris pxt tires and had them mounted to the stock rims. When the tire shop balanced them they added 2-3 times the weight to get them balanced. Is this normal or is their somthing wrong with the tires???

most of the tires don't get balanced because there so hard to do and they don't run that fast to worry about. my 800 w/ pxt came balanced from the factory w/ a fair amount of weights on them.

Hey stendori or anyone else for that matter. Now that this has been mentioned it's got me wondering. I've noticed that my wheels have weights on the inside of the wheels, was this for balancing the tires or maybe just the rims themselves. And if the weights are for the tires wouldn't one want to take them off upon tire replacement? Not that I could see that much difference out of an ATV tire.?????????????

yes sir they are for the tire balancing. they would be mounted soild if they were trying to balance the rims. as i mentioned, for most atv's balancing tires would be kind of pointless for high speed goes and since there ment to be off road the ground you ride on ie. dirt, sand or what not, would kind of take up any sshanking from unbalanced tires. not to mention i doubt the tire companies actually try to true there tires.
