Sounds to me like you better find a new dealer to deal with.As far as the electrical problem youe regulator is probably bad. that should take all of 5 to 10 minutes to replace. As far as the chain problem did you have the chain tensioned properly because if you didn't thats probably what caused the breakage. If it was because of hitting a rock so be it. Anyway you never run a bike with even a slightly bent chain on it. Thats just asking for it to fly off again. The bent chain is what ruined the front sprocket too. Also when the chain flew off it might have bent the trans. output shaft causing the shaft to be out of balance and causing the internal trans problem. Its a sad thing because your dealer should go to bat for you and fix your problems but he obviously dosen't care after the sale.I still wouldn't say these bikes are lemons. You've just had bad luck with a bad dealer!!!

Well first off there's NO WAY a 97 TB is worth 2500-3000. becuase my dad just bought one brand new 2001 freedom series for 3200. second if you had it since 97 and your only prob is a chain an sproket, and charging system oh and your not sure what is wrong with the tranny. well most of your probs are regular items considering you beat the hell out of it. my advice is buy a service manual sit down and learn how a internal combustion engine works becuase you wont see a penny from polaris...
the 2 stroke engine is very simple to work on. as with the trans.

I understand how you could be upset about all of the problems...but some of the things you are describing are normal wear items and some of them can have a good explanation. The chain...I have seen my buddies connector link shear on him in the woods...had the chain too tight, and sprockets wear from riding with loose and or junky chanis that bind and grind. ATV batteries only last a couple years, shorter if you leave mud packed on the terminals, and until '98 polaris transmissions had different style of gears in them, so if when you shift bet. R, N, and F, you are grinding your gears...then you are messing up the gears and the forks. And the value he threw you on that machine...1500, is probalbly an accurate book price for depriciation...T-blazers aren't an expensive machine...they're one of the cheapest on the market. People can have bad luck with machines...but I wouldn't go calling it a lemon.

I don't think you have a LEMON. I think you have a lot of normal wear items you're concerned about. The charging system is questionable. I have seen worse thou, I've seen stator parts break off and destroy alot of major stuff. As for the tranny, hell I bought my 96Xpress used in 98 and the reverse didn't work in it then. Everything that could be were out, was. I spent about $800 in the first few months fixing it up. I just fixed the reverse about a month ago but haven't got to even try it yet. A $50 chain had stretched, naturally I fix everthing myself so I don't have labor cost to worry about. The problem with your tranny could be simple or lots money. I've seen dumb stuff like clips sliding out of place.

If you think you'd like another brand of machine better than by all means. Just remember to get a machine that suits you and your riding style. Also to follow the service recommendations. All machines will break or wear out. They will all need fixed. None of them are indestuctable.

Choose wisely.

derekhonda,

Thanks for pointing that out. I never even looked. Buzz250 is who erected this from the DEAD. I usually look for the dates but didn't this time.
