20"s to 21"- performance loss?
how much power would you think would be lost if I were to switch a polaris phoenix 200's rear tires from 20"ers to 21's.
The main driving force to make this switch would be to get a more aggressive tread pattern installed vs the knobby style that it came with..a side benefit would be a littlle extra ground clearance to help with high centering. I know its only 1/2" gain but the extra 1/2" AND more aggressive tread might make a big difference.
I have looked at tires and there are a lot of 22" tires but are all on 10" wheels...the phoenix comes with 9" rims...and there is nothing out there but knobbys for a 9" wheel and 20" tire,,,I believe a 22" tire is too big a jump to keep its ability to climb up out of creeks and ledges and would lose A LOT of torque.
thoughts? ideas?
