While riding this weekend, I managed to roll the Xped (slowly) on to its side on an uneven downhill. When it rolled the Spedo pod came to rest on a tree, the black plastic having stopped the bike from sliding and the plastic was pushed in 1/2 an inch or so. With help I pulled the bike back and up and the plastic snapped back to normal, BUT the face plate on the spedo is bent now.
The spedo works fine, it's just that the top edge of the alum.face plate( with the numbers on it) is bent upward at a 80 deg. angle and the back light can be seen glowing. Glass and all else is intact.
The Question: Can the spedo be opened to bend the plate back?

The plastic casing on mine was destroyed in my last roll-over. My solution: I took a tin can, a dremel tool, clear plastic and made a new case, just can't reset the odometer. But I also found an old Suzuki speedo at a second hand store, and it matches at the cable control and seems to work. Hasn't been installed yet.
