Finally sold my Sportsman.
It was still running fine but I though it was just time. I kinda of miss the tighter turning radius of my older mid size ATVs (350 Big Bear and 450 Foreman) and I don't seem to ride on trails that allow you to go over 30 mph for very long anyways.
Looking at a 2009 Suzuki 400 KQ right now with 600 miles on it, I looked at a 450 KQ but it was as large as my Sportsman was in size.
I Kind of like the idea of air/oil cooled it eliminates alot of parts like the rad, water pump, rad fan antifreeze and water hoses.
The Straight axle eliminates alot of piviot points and 4 CV joints and boots, not sure if my poor back will like it thought. LOL
Will keep you posted.
Was also looking at a 350 Grizzly but I think I want alittle more motor and it did not have a "low range" which is a must have option for me.

I bought a 2011 King Quad 400 4x4 Auto last year and it's a great quad.
A Honda Rancher 420 is also great (have owned one of those as well).
The Suzuki is just the right size - doesn't look or feel small at all but you don't feel like you're riding a tank. The motor is also very strong for a 400 class.
The 400's have digital gauges, EFI, and really decent tires.
My only gripe is the lack of a locker, but I don't really need it.
For me it was down to the Suzuki, a Sportsman 400 HO, or a Yamaha Big Bear. The advantage of the Big Bear was IRS, but I am glad I chose the Suzuki. As Specta said, they last a loooooooong time.

i thought about a king quad 400( i think that was what is was) for the wife awhile ago, until i did some research and heard about some of them having engine issues becaus the air filters were letting fine dust in and hurting the cyclinder and rings. i would just make sure if you bought ne that you clean and check the filters more often then normal. just my

While a locker is nice I don't think its the most important feature on an ATV.
Honda's limited slip front diff is not as aggressive as a locker but it is a lot more aggrressive than an open diff.
