Default Polaris PS-4 alternatives?

Curious about alternatives to PS-4 engine oil. Looking at running either Royal Purple or Amsoil, but also wondering if I can run a 5W40 like Rotella T synthetic?

Will The 5W40 be too thick for the dry sump system, especially during the winter?

Will be running Polaris in tne front diff, the rest will be other fluids won't be.

0w-40 Amsoil is good its "FULL" synthetic and because its 0 viscosity for cold starts and 40 Viscosity after warm up it handles any temperature range.

The new Polaris oil is said to be 2w-40 or close to, I think its some kind of gimmick so people think the need there oil because no aftermarket oil company makes a odd ball weight like that.

I've been using Mystik JT4 synthetic 0W-40 ATV oil in both my Scrambler and the wife's Kawasaki. $5 a quart at Fleet Farm, plus their Honeywell Defense oil filters are $3, so less than 30 bucks to change the oil in both machines.

Raven, how do you like that Mystik syn 0-40? I see it carried at L&M Ag store up where I live, about 5.60 a quart, real tempted to give it a try.

I like it, it's always nice and clean when I change it. First couple oil changes I used Amsoil, but then I found this stuff and it seems to work just as good at half the price. I did some reading on BITOG before switching and Mystik oils always seem to get good reviews there.
