Default How to check front diff fluid on 2011 - Present Value Model Sportsmans.

Since you folks are always putting together helpful posts, I feel it is time I contributed.

First, use a T27 torx, remove the four bolts and pull the grill.

Then My Winch was mounted on with two 12 mm bolts on the left side, and two 13mm bolts on the right side.

Then, once the winch is out, the check/fill plug is an 8mm Allen. The wires are plenty long enough, so I rested it on a block of wood. Saves having to disconnect the wires to it. I DID NOT disconnect the battery for this.

Did not take too much effort to do. Fluid was up, so my dealer did an excellent PDI.

Also checked the trans/rear diff, also an 8mm Allen, and it was good too.

You are welcome. I would change it at 25 hours. Did mine at 40, and it was dark. Do not wait a year. You can get a few changes out of one bottle.

Had to update the links because of a boneheaded move by webshots!!

Good pics, but I can save you a few steps. No need to pull the winch unless your winch mount is blocking the fill plug. All you need is an 8mm hex socket, long extension and ratchet to get to the fill plug. A long skinny funnel or a hose attached to the diff fluid bottle makes this into an easy job. Mechanics don't like to do anymore than they have to when they're servicing these machines day in day out and I was one of the laziest.
