Default carb adjust 02 scram

Can someone walk me through any adjustment that could help my under load or slow going gumming up that I get?
02 scram 400 starts and runs outstanding. Less the 7-8 months off being completely rebuilt(crank seals and all).
Now my issue is under load which is in 4wd in mudhole and you don't slam it full throttle, pulling something and staying half or less Throttle or even someone on the back and you go slow.
What happens is she smokes and sputtered. If you hammer it or sometimes just get on it a little harder she cleans out and is fine. I really need to fix this as this was a huge issue before I rebuilt it when plowing as a person only need half or less..
It either has a 260 or 280 jet I can't remember which but can easily pull Carb if you want. It also has the reeds that are more open(no plastic in the way) and aftermarket pipe with open muffler . Also just put kit in drive clutch and new belt. She's a wheelie machine if you get traction....

You might have it jetted too rich with a 260 or 280 main jet(240 stock)even if you do have an aftermarket pipe, plus either Boysen or V-Force reeds, etc. They can dump in a lot of fuel into the engine quickly and the engine may not be able to take it at lower rpms or under a load. You can drop the carb slide needle a couple positions first to see if leaning it out on the bottom and mid range helps. Sometimes people over compensate on main jets.If this doesn't help then start with a 245 or 250 main jet and go from there. Remember to do a spark plug check between jet changes to make sure it's not too lean. OPT
