Default 2007 Polaris Ranger XP 700 EFI

I own a 2007 Polaris Ranger XP 700 EFI and when the engine is warm/hot, the engine begins to sputters and loose power. Have replaced battery and spark plugs. Recently install 2500 lb. winch and spliced into the ignition hot side for power to winch. I have seen comments about the possibility of being caused by a weak fuel pump. The fuel pump is mounted in the fuel tank and I have checked on the part and the only thing I can find is that you have to replace the tank in order to get a new fuel pump. I hope I am wrong on this. The engine does not sputter when in neutral and engine is revved up.

Welcome! Airtex makes a lot of pumps for Polaris applications. Never had to replace one in a Ranger, but Polaris came out with a list they sent us for Airtex pump numbers(available at Napa,Autozone.etc) on the 500,700, 800 efi atvs right before I retired. Best first to do a pressure test on the fuel rail, should hold 39 psi,if lower then you can be reasonably sure it's a fuel pump problem. OPT

Default Are they an in tank pump?

Polaris is telling me that I'm looking at about $600 to replace my fuel pump on my 06'ranger 700efi and that the tank and pump can only be bought together,is there a way I can put an inline pump in.i only have 29lbs in rail.i don't want 2 put much money in it.1100hrs on it,and she's getting tired.

Polaris does have replacement pumps on certain models now without buying the whole tank assy, but of course they are higher than the auto stores. Think they finally got tired of people bitchin' about having to buy a whole tank just for the pump which I thought was stupid myself OPT
