Was overheating and took waterpump apart and it does not turn when cranking engine.Any ideas? Thanks

 

Welcome! If you're talking about the impeller not turning its possible the impeller nut has backed off and not spinning on the shaft.Plus running hot or trapped air can damage impellers from cavitation and distort and melt impellers if the condition goes on long enough.. If it's the shaft itself not turning then there's some internal problems that have happened. OPT

 

The shaft is not turning ,thought somebody might have seen this? Will be taking apart this weekend and will let you know ,thanks

 

If the shaft isn't turning it's probably either snapped the locating pin on the oil pump drive gear(would have to break the retaining bolt also?) or the shaft itself may have fractured? Look here under "oil pump" under your model. Browse I've had a crank gear spin that drives the oil pump gear but not the oil pump gear or shaft itself,but anythings possible. OPT

 

found spun gear that drives oil pump on the counter balance shaft> Does it pay to look for a used shaft? Thanks

 

Order a new shaft,I would trust a used one. OPT
