I want a nice quad that has good power, that is able to do average trail riding, wheelies and playing in the mud. But I am not looking to spend alot of money. I can get a tblazer for 3199.00. I know this is not a 400 ex/warrior/raptor. But is it a good deal. I can get a used quad but you can never tell what you are buying. ALso i have always had a 4 stroke and never had problems and I am really uneducated on a 2 stroke and am afraid of the potential work that will be involved in a 2 stroker.. HELP PLEASE

That 250 two-stroke is just what the DR. ordered. Fun, quick and several inexpensive mods if you want more power. You will not be disappointed. My 250 is similar and it is a 1993 with only one piston replaced last year. The quads really are durable if simple maintenance is performed.

The 250 in the Trail Blazer is about as bullet proof as you can get. they have been around a long time and have stood the test of time. The Trail Blazer is a great deal at 3200. Ride it get used to the power and throw on a pipe, people really say that a pipe brings those 250's to life.
you should get years out of the 250 motor. I hear you on the used I never bought a used machine and would have to knwo the people involved before buying one, they can look great but be beat to death.

Regular maintenence will add years to your quads life. Such as keeping the machine greased, keeping fluids changed regularly, keeping the air filte clean. Washing the quad regularly will also help. It washes away dirt that will otherwise act as an abrasive to other parts, especially at pivot points. I almost forgot about the chain. Keeping it at the recomended tension, plus clean and lubed will ad to its life.

basically the same you would have to do to any quad. Except maybe the grease fitings that seem to be more a Polaris thing, but very easy to take care of.
