predator 500 valve adjustment
Hello everybody, Roger is the name, and adjusting the valves on the predator is my game.
I checked clearance, and they need to be loosened up. I did the valve adjust on a Kawasuki klr650, and that went great. If anyone is familiar with that elephant, is the predator similar. I'm trying to do this as I write this, so if anyone can help with the prcedure, I would be greatful.
I dont have a manual, so looking for the procedure starting with
The cam cover is off, and need more clearance.
Thanks. I'm in sac, if anyone can help, # is 916-600-1601

Welcome! This is a shim under bucket system(Not sure whether the KLR is shim or adjusters) but if you don't have the shims, cheaper to let someone that does adjust the valves,OR you can find different shims here under "intake and exhaust". The cam chain and cams have to be removed to adjust the valves. Browse Just looked at a KLR breakdown and looks like they still use the shim on top of the bucket. Still have my old Kawasaki valve depressor tool that I used years ago on Kawasaki street bikes. Predators are a lot harder to adjust the valves on. OPT
