03 polaris magnum 330
on an 03 magnum 330, i have a question about the charging system. previous owner put a new battery in an after about a week it went dead. I charged the battery, and started the engine, battery voltage while running was 12.5 - 13.3 from idle to about 2000 rpm. if it sits over night the battery will discharge enough the starter will not work. by the voltage i don't think the charging system is working but how do you test the regulator / rectifier? is there something else to look at?

Welcome! Charging is a little on the low side(should be between 14 to 14.5 volts) and can run a battery down, plus not uncommon to have a bad battery straight out of the box. We had stacks of new batteries that we had to have warrantied at the shop also. I would have the battery load tested to eliminate it as the problem first. I don't have the stator specs for the 330 wiring going into the regulator/rectifier,BUT most of the time low charging is a reg/rectifier problem. OPT
