If either of you guys figure out the problem you're having on the cause of your stalling, posts the results for other Phoenix owners that may come across the same thing! Sometimes we never hear back from people OPT

OK so hopefully i don't jinx myself putting it in writing, but I've got the phoenix running fantastic. Just a matter of TLC. I guess there was just dirt in the fuel system (thanks OPT). Ran it all afternoon and it's really a fun little machine.

to all other phoenix owners out there, keep up on your maintenance and make sure you don't get any crap in your fuel tank and you should be good to go.

Sometimes it's just the simple things! Plus if you notice any black specs in fuel bowls it could be ethanol that is deteriorating fuel lines and can stop up jets, needle valves.Takes a few years on some to do this, but the ethanol fuel we get now does nasty stuff on rubber. Plus it's mandatory now to use a good fuel stabilizer if any machine sits up a month or more. Some times that's all it takes for fuel to start varnishing up carb parts! Doesn't last as long as the old fuel with lead that we had years ago. That stuff could sit months and still run good. OPT

i had come across something about that prior, but couldn't find any info on it really. out of curiosity how do you get the top cover off off the throttle box? I didn't see any fasteners, but it wouldn't just pop off? if this thing should start acting up again, that will be the first place i look.

Three screws on the top cover, but you don't have to remove it. Just pull back the rubber sleeve on the throttle cable, loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster until you have 1/8" slack at the thumb throttle. OPT

Default Phoenix Update?

I am having the same issue as the above posts. Started and ran great for 15-20 minutes, then stalls out. I found several things that may have contributed to this issue (haven't tested it fully yet)
- Changed all fuel lines - they were starting to deteriorate
- Found a section of the carb vent line that had collapsed where it bend over the frame - replaced vent line and re-routed up to the handlebar area
- Cleaned the carb completely - there was some build-up and shmutz in the bowl
- Adjusted the throttle safety switch - not sure if it working at all (did the factory test and it didn't shut off...)
-Found that the engine oil was WAY over-full. When I did the initial oil change, I put in the factory-spec amount in - I didn't see the part in the manual that the oil level should be 1/2 full in the site glass. I drained out oil until it was 1/2 way up the site glass
-Replaced the choke cable - it wasn't working properly

I hope this fixes it. I ran it in the yard for 20+ minutes and didn't have any issues. I will get it to the track this weekend to give it a good test. If anyone else had had a similar issue and has solved it, please post it.

when we had ours I ran sea foam in EVERY tank...never had issues after the initial time. You can get the cleaning agent of sea foam at hardware stores, it is NAPTHA. put 1 oz in a whole tank of fuel in the phoenix. Google "homemade seafoam" and you will see the MSDS sheet info. it worked great for our Phoenix's

I put some Seafoam in before trying to run it again. Stared right up, then stalled after 5 minutes. I drained some fuel from the bowl, but then it stopped. I found an air bubble blocking the line just before the filter. I bled it, ran it, and it did The same thing again. I pulled the line and drained it into a bucket, and the flow from the petcock was erratic - good, then almost no flow (gas cap was removed during the test). Removed the petcock and had good flow from the lines? Took the petcock apart, and it was clean? I will order a new one today, but it doesn’t make sense...
