Default 2004 Sportsman 90 Carburetor

I was recently given a 2004 Sportsman 90 which wasn't running properly. Since it had been sitting for a while, I pulled the carb which definitely needed cleaning and cleaned it the best I could. I reattached it and it still doesn't run. It's apparent that it isn't getting fuel but it does run on ether.

Searching online, I see you can buy aftermarket carbs in the $20 range with an electric choke while the manual ones are $50+. Since I have a manual choke, can I order a carb with an electric one and swap the mechanism from my old one to it?

I sure hope so since I already bought it!

Welcome! Try blocking off the air box air tube with your thumb and see if it cranks up a little easier. Common problem on these little ones whether they had the electric choke or manual choke.Electric choke and manual choke carbs are the same if you do need to get one. The manual choke assy just bolts up in place of the electric choke on the carb!
They usually only need to have the intake blocked when the engine is cold, after it warms up,usually cranks right up,as long as you're sure the carb is clean, getting fuel to it.We had an in house "tech bulletin" from Polaris about doing this "procedure" and left it up to us to tell owners if they complained about cold starts.
