Yes that is about what I normally see on my 08 800 Sportsman. I never understood why they went to a bigger cc and smaller gas tanks. Makes me miss my old 500 Sportsman for the milage.

I have 27" Mud Lite XTR's on mine right now and according to the stock speedometer it reads 60-64 mph on a long flat stretch. When it was new with the stock tires and rims it would run 70 according to the speedo. The stock speedos arent always the most accurate but thats what mine said.

Mine is an 08 also. That is normal on that machine, if you look close it had dual mufflers but really its a single exhaust system that has another muffler plug into it. It doesnt have a true dual exhaust. I put an aftermarket muffler on mine and it turns it into a single muffler system mainly to safe the weight. Not a huge performance gain at all.

I have been real happy with my machine and I do a lot of different types of riding. My only complaint is in warm temperatures and low speeds your right leg will get really warm from the exhaust.

Belts are just like any other machine. Belts will always be a weak point but as long as you use low range at slow speeds and when your putting more of a load on the machine that will save you a lot of ware and tare.

they do run hotter then singles for sure and make sure you keep your radaitor completely clean of mud(front and back) if not they can over heat easily. i never had any issues w/ either my 06 or 08' 800's for belt issues. i always used low range when working the bike and going real slow. the extra clutch speed at slow speeds help cool the belt form the excesses heat. as far as speed goes i could do about 70 mph w/ the stock tires and closer to 64 w/ my 27" xtr's i ran.
