Default Good Buy?

Hi everybody, I am looking at getting my first wheeler. I have never owned a wheeler before and would like some professional opinions.

I own two polaris snowmobiles and they have been very good sleds. The polaris sportsman seems to be a popular model so I have been looking at them.

2002 Polaris Sportsman 700 Twin

This is the wheeler I am currently interested in. Are these good reliable wheelers? I am confident in my ability to fix the problems stated, but I am worried whether or not these problems could mean something else more expensive is about to go. What do you guys think?

Also the post says 1200 hours, but the owner made a mistake and it should say 1200 miles.

Thanks for help!

Welcome! I gotta jump on this one! IF it doesn't have the updated Kokusan ignition ( about $450 for the kit) offer the guy less( the kit cost and your labor) if the machines clean and you really want it! Look at the post in this section on the 2002 to early 2004 Ducati problems on the 700. Takes a few hrs to install. Has a new flywheel,stator,cdi,coil,regulator/rectifier,jumper wires and instructions in the kit. This is just a heads up notice! Ducati ignitions will fail, some sooner others later. Plus you can do a search on 700 ignition problems. OPT
