Default Sportsman 500 HO

I am going to look at a 500 next week. The specs show that it has a DC outlet, but I cannot find a picture of it's location...where is it at?

Its on the side of the top Headlight Pod on my 2001. Great for blowing up air beds when camping.

They are awesome. They do not come with a pull start, or engine braking, but both are a option.

Mine has been trouble free.

They call it EBS (Engine Braking Sysytem). Its a different Drive clutch which used the motors compression to hold back the ATV when you let off the throttle. Handy when going down hills and stuff. Without it you just ride the brakes down hills or it will just free wheel down the hill pretty quick.

EBS, if an option, is well worth it. I have it on mine and ride with a friend who does not have it. When descending most grades, I barely touch my brakes, while he is constantly on his. He either has to ride the brakes or constantly jockey the throttle to keep the clutch engaged in order to have some Engine Braking.

EBS costs $610 to add after the purchase. I you want I, get it when the bike is new.

At one time EBS was just on every sportsman and not a option. If you do not have ebs just put the ATV in low range when going down a steep hill. The ATV will act like it does have EBS for some reason.
