Default 01 scrambler 90

my son's 90 has electric and a kick start. my question is why does it start hard with the electric start, but he can kick it over once and it fires right up? im also looking for performance mods such as a clutch kit and a pipe. thank you in advance!!!

Usually what happens is the belt dust clogs up the idle gear that runs off the starter. The gear itself can wear/chip,or the starter itself can become weak over time. Item #16 is the gear.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
Item #7 is the kick starter ratchet gear.
