chain issue on 250 trailblazer.

Don't cut links on a chain if it's worn out!! Not worth the effort, plus you're dealing with something that can damage cases it the ever jumps or can cause injury to the riders. This applies to motorcycles, dirt bikes and atvs. Replace worn chains, don't cut links. In his case on the Trail Blazer if the chain is too worn to adjust, a new cheap 76 link o-ring chain is the best. Several different brands and prices.DID,RK,Regina,etc.

A chain breaking tool would be a good investment as well. A bit of extra chain and one of those has saved our weekend more than once.

Just watched the video. I also installed that type of hitch... Is it possible I didn't tighten those bolts enough which cause my chain to get loose?
Now, according to that video I just need to loosen those 4 bolts and then turn that thing forward. Looks hard but plausible. I need to get that massive chain lock though.
I recently bought these: will they do for loosing bolts?

That will work fine (with a little grunt) for the two axle housing bottom 5/8" nuts and two 1/2" bolts in the caliper bracket, but you still need a 5/8" wrench or vice grips to hold the two 5/8" bolt heads on the housing from turning when you loosen and when you tighten after the chain is adjusted. The housing bolts(that are the hitch bolts also) need to be tight as they can loosen, the housing can move and chain slack can happen. 40 foot pounds on the 5/8" nuts,12 foot pounds on the the 1/2" bolts. In other words tighten the devil out of the big nuts, hand tight on the 1/2" caliper bracket bolts.

I found another video. The guy used this tool that will be cheaper than those big locks.
I think I found one... Will this one work:

Can't always trust a strap wrench if the housing is frozen from dirt and mud.Could just slip on you. I'd still at least take a pair of channel lock pliers or a pipe wrench.

Thanks old polaris tech.
Also, in the video I found (which is for a trail boss), the guy only loosens 3 bolts while in the other video which is also a trail-boss the guy loosens 4 bolts. Could it be that on my trailblazer I will need to loosen different bolts?

Just loosen both bolts you don't have to remove them. You're just taking pressure off the caliper bracket mount on the housing so it can be turned to adjust the chain.
