I have a code 55 showing when in the diagnostic mode and the book says its a Diagnostic lamp issue. What is the Diagnostic lamp? I have searched the internet and can't seem to find what or where the Diagnostic lamp is or where its located.

Any help, am I blind or is this Polaris's proprietary name for a common part?

Even if your 500 efi is running ok sometimes you can get false codes. Haven't had a 55 code pop up that I can remember,but had plenty of 21(loss of synchronization)codes among others. Unplug the battery for a couple minutes and see if the code clears. Could be too that since the Ranger does share the same basic speedo on the 700 engine on that model and had a actual mil light (diagnostic lamp) on the dash that would light up,could be the reason. #8 on the parts break down. http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...2006&fveh=7133

 

I cannot get the "WAIt" sign or the blinking mode to cycle on Sportsman 500 2006/7

 

Disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds,hook back up and try the diagnostics mode again.Just like any computer they need to be rebooted at times.
