1995 scrambler 400
#1
I picked up a 1995 scrambler 400 that had the crank go out and broke the case. How many different year 400's will fit in this quad?
Does anyone have a old 400 2 stroke laying around they want to sell. Quad is in pretty good shape. Well worth fixing.

Are you saying that all the parts will interchange with each other? 95' case with a 98 cylinder... ect? or are the internal workings particular to each year. My buddy has a 98 jug. I can get a used case half. or will that not work.

Major changes were electrical components over the years(stators and flywheels and early model recoil starters). All internal mechanical parts will interchange. As far as engines goes even the 350 is the same. Only engine difference is the cylinder itself and the bore. Bore was 80 mm versus 83 mm on the 400. Stroke was the same on both engines.Never tried it,but both cases should even interchange. So you actually have a choice between a 1990-1993 350 or a 1994 - 2003 400 engine cases.

Just the recoil and flywheel are different on the early models with the two piece recoil cover.Cases, internals should still be the same. http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...1990&fveh=5342
