Thanks NBsportsman. I'll try to remember that the next time the fluid needs changing. Maybe I can find something similar. Mine wasn't making any noise at all unless the ADC was on. Then it was so bad you could tell something was broken. There wasn't any noise or anything to serve as a warning. One day it was just messed up bad. That's the part I don't get.

Yes the only time the clutch packs chatter is when the ADC is on. When your's messed up bad I figure the clutch packs came apart...

I dunno. My original ADC gave no warning of trouble then growl, groan, & chatter. Dealer changed it ($1599 Cdn), same noises. Thier invoice showed they had used fluid that had been cancelled. Changed to the updated fluid. BINGO! Worked & still does, flawlessly, and it gets a lot of use in last 1 1/2 years.

This thread is the first time I've heard Polaris changed to a different gear case fluid but like I said I changed to the TDH and never looked back. Reading this now seems to back my point that the original ADC fluid was not compatible with the clutch packs which left how many guys on the hook for the expensive repair? Lots of steep nasty grades here in northern NB so I pretty much use the ADC every time I'm out and am one happy puppy that it works the way it should.....

This happened back when the ADC fluid was a seperate part # 2876144. Then it was updated to one that works flawlessly #2877922 (all purpose ADC & Demand drive).

The first part # Mongrol gave was for the LT active descent gear case fluid. The updated # was for the good all around Demand Drive Plus that you could use in everything. I was stuck with a couple cases of LT fluid and was told to "use it up somewhere" I didn't know whether to pour it out or drink it to get rid of it...http://www.parkeryamaha.com/polaris-...us-oil-qt.aspx

Default ADC fluid

[quote=Mongrol;3189436]Make sure that yur using the updated fluid #2877922 not #2876144. The 6144 wil make the ADC growl if slightly dirty. Shyster local dealer did it to me at a cost of approx. $ 1500.00.[/quo

I was under the impression part #2877922 was “Demand DrivePlus” fluid for the Diff and #2876144 was ADC Fluid for the small reservoir. NowI’m totally corn-fused. My ADC when engaged makes the worse sound I ever heard.

Nope on that info. On the bottom of the lable of the 7922 it tells you where to use it & throw the 6144 out or send it to OPT. I think he collects it. lol

Thanx... I think they still had a few quarts laying around when I left. It actually was a good thin oil that I used in the oil cups of our boring machine along with using it in cylinders when I wet honed them..
