ADC grinding - should I worry?
#21
There lies the problem, the Demand Drive Plus fluid is onorder so I was unable to read the updated info. To make things worse the mechanicI talked to told me to use 80-90 gear oil in the front diff, (no Polaris shopsin town). So today I’ll drain the 80-90 out, flush the diff with the ADC fluid Ihave and when I get the Demand Drive Plus I’ll flush the ADC from the diff. Ifthis ADC Diff still works after all this, I’ll sit down and have a drink.
Thank you for the info Mongrol

Polaris Rep also told me;
After changing ADC fluid from 6144 to 7922 & it still growls or grinds, drive atv to 10 mph then push switch to ADC & let it coast to a stop. Do this 10-20 times. If there is still a bit of noise, flush & refill ADC with 7922. That should do it. Worked on mine & still perfect after continual heavy use.

Good info to have Mongrol. I'll be riding this weekend for the first time since I got it fixed and even though I never really use the adc I just couldn't leave it that way. I still don't have any idea why it went bad in the first place.

My guess is that the fluid (particularly the 6144) got dirty from the clutch granules that wear off & just contaminated the ADC fluid & it's not very forgiving of clutch debris. Mine went bad with no warning or hint of trouble,
