That's how you rebuild an engine the right way!

Got my crank and cyl dropped off. The spot on the crank where the 2 bearings on the recoil side looked like they might have wear. They were going to measure it and see. Hopefully I don't need a new crank. Anybody know anything about wossner pistons?

The two bearings ride on the clutch side.Unless a bearing race has spun which is highly unlikely the crank itself should be fine and able to have a new rod kit and new bearings installed. Wiseco,Namura,Wsm,etc are all good pistons. Never used a Wossner piston, but shows they're a forged piston on their website and fairly expensive!.

My friends uncle said they liked to use the wossner or wiseco pistons. He said the wossners have a anti-friction coating on the skirt.

I guess my crankshaft is ok. So just waiting to get it and the cyl back.

Since all the decals are gone on my machine, I want to get a graphics kit. They don't list the ones I'm looking at for the xplorer. What other atv has the closest body?

Also what is there for fan options? I was kind of thinking a maradyne 8". I'm not sure how much power I can draw or how many cfm I need. Also looking at maybe just a rad fan from a small car.

Bike Bandit still shows to have the oem decals if that's what you want. Several places online for graphics kits. Polaris Sportsman 500 800 ATV Quad Graphics Kit 2005-2010
As far as a fan check Spal.Spal Electric Fans - The Fan Man

So I missed a call from the shop friday. I figured it was probably about what I wanted for a piston.

Anyway while the engine is out, I'm going through everything on it. I happened to have a good look at the old piston while taking a break between changing brake pads and new trans fluid. I noticed the piston is already a 2mm oversized.

So now I'm thinking they were calling to say I need another cylinder or to get a sleeve.

I'm just wondering if its worth it to resleeve? Sleeves are around $100-120. Plus whatever it takes to istall it (machining or whatever. I saw $160 somewhere). I can get a 1mm overbore cyl with a wiseco piston kit for $330.
