98 xplorer 4x4 not running quite right

May be better to go with the used cylinder if you can trust it? I used LA Sleeve for sleeving and Langcourts for replating coated cylinders. Turn key on sleeves was somewhere around $200-$225 for the sleeve and labor,coating cost a few bucks less,but still expensive..Sleeving requires the old sleeve to be removed, cylinder has to be bored out enough to fit the the new sleeve,plus chamfer the ports. Sounds like you just need to put a pencil to it and get the complete cost both ways and decide..

Ya. I'm kinda thinking a cyl and piston kit for $330 is probably the way to go. I still have to talk to the shop tomorrow.

Are these cylinders plated? Mine didn't look like it. But it is worn.
