Default Carb slide mod?

Ok so I've been searching for this mod and can't get anything but broken links. I am going to rebuild my carb tomorrow, change the jets, and throw a clamp on unifilter. What are the benefits of the slide mod, and how do you do it? The bike is a 97 trailboss 250. I just did a top end, got some bottom end noise, so I went ahead and did the full rebuild. So I want to get this thing right.

Carb slide mods are done a on vacuum operated slides by drilling out the air lift holes, cutting springs to get quicker throttle response. Yours is a manual/cable lift slide on the stock 250 Mikuni carb. Just rebuild the carb with a good kit if you haven't done so already,Moose,Sudco, etc and drive the devil out of it!!
