Default 800EFI (2011) runs rough, help needed

Hi all,
just registered to this forum after having bought 2011 Polaris Sportsman 800EFI, but we have been having troubles even testdriving it in our yard. The bike starts quite OK but it doesnt accelerate smoothly. The ride is pretty awful and it stalls a lot. Yesterday check engine light came on so we stopped trying.
Today we checked the throttele cable and tried to adjust it so that that the kill switch doesnt force it to idle. No help there.
Then we recharged the battery and the driving got little better. Now the engine idle about 1200 rpm quite ok but still stalls when trying to acclerate.
Before charging the battery the display showed error code 27 but we cant find explonation for it anywhere. Other times when we checked error codes there wasnt anything to see. After batter recharge the check engine light hasnt come back (yet).

The engine has only 75 hours and 650 km in it.
What could be the problem?

Look at the expert section under the "sticky" section on 700 and 800 sensor harness problems. This sounds like some of the common symptoms from bare or broken sensor wires or harness connector itself from the t bap sensor. Sometimes it would throw strange or bogus codes, or even no codes, but when a break is obvious, usually codes 45 or 46 would show up. You can check the thin harness wires from the tps and tbap sensors for bare or soft feeling wires. Also the crank sensor harness could have a bare wire touching. OTB (in the "sticky" section offers harness repair kits that are thicker gauge than the junky Polaris kits if this is the problem. Only The Best

Hi and thanks for the quick and helpful reply.
Luckily my bike got extended warranty left so going to take it to the dealer at the end of the week.

The owners manual is one of the worst ive seen, 10 models in one book and done in a way that a beginner cant do much maintance work with it.

Is ther better manuals online or books to order?

Gonna send update after service is done. The bike stalls now at 2400 to 3200 rpm and cant be driven. T-bap sensors wires looked and felt OK, but cant know for sure.

If it is a t-bap sensor wiring harness problem and they install a Polaris harness repair kit it probably wont last long. I've had to do several a second time.Keep us posted and remember the OTB website..Owners manuals are becoming a generic mess that confuses a lot of people. The best manual is the Polaris hard cover service manual.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Polaris-Sportsman-800-EFI-Factory-Service-Manual-/380336875378?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item588dd82772&vxp=mtrDon't know what dealers charge for them but you might ask.Plus you can find cheap 5 buck pdf manuals if you don't mind.2011 Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI Service Manual PDF Download

Hope this solves your problem, but if anything else crops up such as codes 45 or 46 or even if no codes are present and idle is erratic, dies, etc remember the wiring harness problems. Only The Best
