Sportsman 570!?!

No, the 570 is the Polaris built Prostar engine. I heard a rumor Polaris is working to get away from the Fuji built engines. Makes sense that this would be the first step in that direction. I think it will be a great machine, with power steering available as an $800 option. That is the same price as an aftermarket PS unit that you would have to install yourself, and not be covered under the atv's warranty.

I still think they should have kept the 500 sportsman. In my opinion it probably was the most tried and true ATV polaris had and a lot of people really liked it for a lot of reasons. I hardly see anyone talk about the 400 sportsman, so im not sure why they would keep it.
At the same time, that little 570 prostar is a real good performing engine, and I bet it moves pretty good. Im still kind of in shock they are killing the 500 HO though. That atv alone basically made them a contender in the utility market.

Was up at the dealer just looking around. They didn't have them yet.
Lots of nice Can-Am Mavericks and Polaris RZR XP 900's, though. Man, if I lived out in the West with dunes and open spaces I'd love one of those machines.

There's a new RZR 1000 too that I'd like to see whenever it comes in. http://www.polaris.com/en-us/rzr-sid...ng-le/features

Someones has to play devil's advocate and it might as well be me..The only negative (if there is one) on the 570 is the shim under bucket valve system like the 900. Granted if it's like the 900 on service intervals on valve lash adjustment (200 hrs or 2000 miles which ever comes first) this really isn't a big deal expect for the do it yourselfer.A box of different size shims isn't cheap.Plus along with efi problems, more visits to the dealer.. This kinda leaves the home mechanic down to changing oil, filters, brake pads and greasing.. Guess you kinda see where I'm leading...The old long in the tooth 500 carb model that is basically bullet proof, but not up to date performance wise compared to the 570 is slowly being put out to pasture.Kinda think the 400 wont be around too long either.. Just sentimental I guess..
