Default Ideas on how to make my 2005 Sportsman 800 more fuel efficent

I now it wont ever be good on fuel but you can allways make it better. Id like to know parts you can but on it to make it save more fuel for example, spark plugs (what spark plugs should i use). Thanks guys

About the only thing that will make the 800 more fuel efficient is thumb restraint Ditto on the NGK plugs. Other than that, keep your air filter clean and regular maintenance. I always used to run with about two extra tanks worth of fuel on board with my 800's.

So true Switzomatic!!! My '09 Sportsman 800 Touring with the 6 gallon tank starts reminding me at 100 miles that she needs to replenish the tank in order to bring me back home!!! I too, also carry extra fuel on board..

^^ What he said. I've gotten anywhere from 50-100 miles out of a 6 gal tank. It's all in the thumb and terrain. If you like to ride in the mud, then mileage is going to suck...period. If you want to play, then you got to pay, lol.
