400 Scrambler Pipes

It is a chromed pipe and it fits like a charm. Every single bolt and screw hole lines up perfectly. It has a power range the whole way through the throttle (9-10HP gain). It is like a night and day difference for sure. I ordered the pipe tuesday at 2:45 and had it at my door thursday at 1:00 less than two days! Great service and one heck of a pipe.
and the main thing is NO CLUTCHING HAS TO BE DONE!!!!

8-10HP throughout the power band is the industry average for a Polaris pipe/silencer combo. It is possible to acheive this w/o clutch tuning, however a properly tuned clutch will deliver this newly founded power smoother and help you to reach it quicker as well.
PeeWee;
What are the engagement/shift out RPM's of your Scrambler witht he 52gm weights?
I'm running the Red/Yellow in my Sport with 54gm weights. Engagement is at 4000RPM's, and shift out is at 7100RPM's. I've been contemplating lighter weights and was curious as to how much they would affect the engagement/shift out.
FYI: my secondary has an AAEN roller kit, HPD lavender in 2nd hole on both sheave/roller, and a 42/38 cam.

Hard to say about the roller. I put it on as I was putting my motor back together after having it race ported. But, by lookignat it, it seems as though it would definatley reduce friction in the sheave. My Sport was 7 mos. old wehn I put it on and I had two broken buttons it the housing. I'm glad I made the change when I did.

I think that you will find the DynoPort pipe works best without clutching changes. I've talked to them at length a few times trying to get them to build a "Works Pipe" for the 400, but they won't. Their pipe is designed to work within the stock power band and does not over-rev like many of the other pipes we are used to getting. It's forte is basically low-mid range. It would probably be a real good pipe on a 400 Explorer. I do believe you still may have to do some re-jetting.
