I found this on another website...

Just read an article on the new 550 bearcat the specs are as follows.
It's a 550 dual overhead cam 4 valves per head EFI twin cylinder engine, and it produces 45hp only a few suspension changes it has ryde fx shocks all around and 10.2 inches of clearance, revised automatic wide ratio clutches thats all I know right now but EFI in quads has arrived.
The Article was in full power 4 stroke magazine.
------------------

Thats right... fuel injected... hmmm

Greg,
Do you have a link to this? I haven't heard of this mag, and might like to subscribe.

I can believe it all except for the 45hp. Not that's it's not possible to get 45hp out of a 550 single, I just don't think any of the manufacturers would push it that much in a utility quad.

By any chance, was that the April issue of the magazine?? Beware of April Fool's pranks.

The 45 HP is probably measured at the crank. That's not unreasonable. 45 at the rear wheels is hard to believe.
