Tire size question for '96 Sportsman 400
#1
Hello
Purchased some tires by mistake and wondering what are the chances they'll work anyways
currently have 25 X 8 X 12's on the front, the tires I purchased are 25 X 10 X 12 - significantly fatter and it doesn't appear to me that Polaris with the axle guard design would provide the clearance.
Is there a reference thread or website where you can find the largest tires you can put on your Polaris or can some answer this question directly?

The stock tires on a 1995-1998 ,400 sportsman is 25x8-12(front) and 25x11-10. ATV Tire and Wheel Application Chart : ATV Tires Free Shipping : ATV Wheels : Mud-Throwers.com
So your new rear tires are thinner not wider and will not fit on a 10" rim.
Last # is rim dia. not tire width.
