Default Front diff repair question

Well this bike will be the death of me I swear, I hate to spend 1000 on a new diff but if I cant get this fixed thats where im headed.

Anyway the wiring as it goes in the diff is corroded and frayed, so has anyone been able to repair this in any way? It looks about impossible.
06 800 sportsman

Trust me I have spent some money on this thing and this is all thats left.

And if anyone has one laying around let me know

Thanks

Only way I can think of is to pull the cover plate with the coil and see if you can repair the wiring. If you can't possibly a local starter/generator repair shop can. Worth a try as a new cover plate assembly is about $350.

Put a tester on it to see if those wires have power first.

After that it may be the notorious exploding platic roller cage but they ony cost $100 not $1000. Even the much stronger aftermarket alloy cage is only $139

Here is a video to help install it yourself if that's the problem.
No matter it shows you how to get in there and whats in there, but I see nothing clost to $1000 unless your talking labour for a dealer to do it?
The whole rebiuld kit costs only $200 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-06-Pola...-/161128069726

Thanks for the replies, I replaced the roller cage and rollers and bearings and seals 2 yrs ago before the engine went so it's all good.
There is power going to the unit, I've also tried turning bike on while on blocks put it in 4wd and tried to see if the magnet inside diff grabs a screwdriver but it doesn't. It's obvious the wiring is bad.
The 1000 comes from local dealer (actually called 2) and they stated Polaris no longer sells the plate itself just the whole diff now.

Maybe I'll call Polaris and see for myself but I do trust the dealer I use.

And thanks I'll try to find a place that rebuilds starters.

I appreciate the replies.

OPT I'll be calling them in the morning to see if that's available and I guess I need a new thrust button and plate too right?
Thanks

Yes,plus I'd get a new seal kit unless you feel the seal and o-ring is ok.
