Sounds like the consensus is that the 550 is reliable. There is a lot of electronic stuff on these machines, too. So is the extended warranty worth buying? $600 per machine? I can afford it, but don't like throwing money away. I have never had a major failure on any of my polaris machines,

I bought it cuz mine was the 1st year model but I didn't have to spend 1 cent on repairs. $800.00 down the drain for me but if they've made changes or updates, who can tell ?

Loving my 09 550 XP as well, over 2400 trouble free miles so far. I don't get out to ride nearly enough.
